3 Sunscreens I Actually Use on My Kids

3 Sunscreens I Actually Use on My Kids

If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a mom, it’s that sunscreen is only as good as the sunscreen your kids will actually let you put on them. I’ve tried so many over the years, and these are the three I keep coming back to for my kids.

They each serve a slightly different purpose, and I’ve found that having a few favorites makes it much easier to stay consistent with sunscreen for everyday use, sports, and vacations.

1. Thinkbaby - My Pick for Sensitive Skin

Thinkbaby is the sunscreen I reach for most often for my younger daughter. She has eczema and more sensitive skin, so I’m much more careful about what I use on her.

I’ve found Thinkbaby to be gentle on her skin, which is why it has become my go-to for her. I especially like it when we’re going to be outside for a longer period of time and I want something I feel comfortable applying generously.

2. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Pediatrics - My European Favorite

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Pediatrics is one of those products I always pick up when I’m in Europe. I usually buy a few at a time because I know we’ll go through them.

One of the things I love most about the European version is how lightweight it feels. I find it especially nice for the face because it blends in easily and doesn’t leave the noticeable white cast that you get with some mineral sunscreens.

3. Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 - My Family Sunscreen

Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 is probably the one I use most when we’re doing something active as a family.

It’s water and sweat resistant, so this is the sunscreen I reach for before tennis camp, long days outside, and beach vacations. It’s especially convenient when I can use one bottle for the whole family!

These are the three sunscreen brands I keep coming back to for my kids, and each has its place in our routine. Thinkbaby for sensitive skin, La Roche-Posay for their faces, and Supergoop! PLAY for active days and family vacations.

And honestly, the best sunscreen is the one you’ll actually use and remember to reapply. With kids, I’ve learned that having a few formulas that everyone likes makes the whole process a lot easier.
